November 2020 - Present

Program Assistant, Perry Institute for Marine Science

The Community Conservation Education & Action program seeks to build capacity within local communities, promote awareness of conservation education and action, and provide opportunities for involvement in marine conservation and action.

October 2019 - September 2020

MPhil. Conservation Leadership

For 11 months, I studied and successfully attained a Master's of Philosophy degree from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. During this time, we were taught modules that covered various topics that are key for running successful programmes, projects and initiatives.

November 2016 - September 2019

Conservation Planner, Bahamas National Trust

During my three years at the Bahamas National Trust, in my role under the Parks Department, I was mainly responsible for the Bahamas Protected project and management of other species and site-based conservation projects. My project work mainly consisted of stakeholder engagement, protected area management planning, as well as, community and government relations.

May 2015 - November 2016

Marine Education Coordinator, Dolphin Encounters Ltd.

After working and interning over summers during my years in undergrad, I worked as an informal educator at a marine mammal facility. In my time as Coordinator, I designed and taught curriculum to children, from ages 9-13, about the marine animals, marine conservation, the global environment and climate change. I created and facilitated experiences for groups of all ages to meet marine mammals and connect with their marine environment, while encouraging conservation. I also hosted interns interested in pursuing careers in marine biology, veterinary medicine and animal training.

August 2011 - May 2015

BSc. Marine Biology

At Barry University in the United States, I studied and achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology. In the last 3 years of my studies, I became a Resident Assistant. In this role, I created events and hall designs that facilitated a welcoming environment for residents.
